Aardvarks' double CD Live 1981-1985, unveiled for bassist and singer Michi Wagner's 70th birthday, gathers twenty cuts of psychedelic, 60s organ flavored garage rock recorded by the Salzburg student band during live perfomances across smoky pubs, garages and even a manure pit between 1981 and 1985. Culled from eighteen cassettes over half a year of work, it embraces all its rough edges while delivering spontaneous, surprising solos and the raw spirit of young lads barely in their twenties tearing into their instruments.
